After the success of The Black Order, Allgemeine-SS 1925-1945, an illustrated encyclopedia dedicated to the “total society” project envisioned by the SS, we wanted to explore the subject even further with this new volume. Jean-François Pelletier and Georges Bernage respectively wrote part of this new work. One presents a detailed study of the Bladed Weapons of the Order, accompanied by a rich and unique iconography. The other, in the form of an illustrated dictionary, compiles documents and a critical reading of the “cultural” and symbolic dimension of the main characteristics of the Black Order.
This new volume is an essential complement to the previous one, not to be missed to discover and understand still little-known aspects of the Hitler period.
The historian Georges Bernage is one of France's premier experts on the 1944 Normandy Invasion. He has published over forty books on the subject since 1978.
